Sam Bardaouil is a curator, writer and art historian. He is the co-founder, along with Till Fellrath, of Art Reoriented, a curatorial platform operating between New York and Munich. Over the last decade, he has curated a number of seminal exhibitions such as SPACE-tacular at the Fondazione Volume in Rome, ItaliaArabia and Iran Inside Out at the Chelsea Art Museum in New York and the Farjam Collection in Dubai and Told Untold Retold for Mathaf: The Arab Museum of Modern Art in Doha. Sam has lectured in art history, theater practice and Middle Eastern cultural studies at a number of universities, including the American University of Beirut, the American University in Dubai and the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. Sam contributes a regular column for Flash Art Magazine and his writings have been featured in Canvas, Art Info and the Huffington Post. His screenplay “"Here Comes the Rain", has recently swept six major awards including “Best Narrative Film” at the Abu Dhabi Film Festival, “Best Actor” at the Brussels Independent Film Festival, and the “Special Jury Award” at the Rabat Film Festival. Sam is currently pursuing a PhD in Modernist Studies at the Art History Institute of the Ludwig Maximilians Universiatat in Munich. His upcoming curatorial projects, jointly with Till Fellrath, will take place at the Today Art Museum, Beijing and the Palais des Beaux Arts (BOZAR) in Brussels in 2012 and at the Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris in 2013.
